I am who I am

As the title of this suggests ~ I am who I am!  I will not apoligize to you or anyone else for being me.  If you don't like me or don't like my opinions or comments, that isn't any of my concern.

Tuesday

Today started out well.....

I'm so full of stress and anxiety already that I've made myself sick.  Phone calls while I'm already on the phone.  Messages to log before the next call.  Nosey people and some are just plain miserable to be around. Grrrrr.........

I'm hopeful the day will turn around and get better.  Fingers crossed :)

~ Favors ~

Yesterday my dad came over with my aunt.  I think this is becoming a thing of theirs, to come over on Sunday's after church.  So we visited a while and then while they were getting ready to leave, my dad asked me if I'd do a favor for him?  Hmmmm.... I said.  I asked him what he wanted because I remember what happened last month when I asked him for a favor (he turned my request down).  Then he has to go into this speil about why he turned down my request...blah blah blah... Then I politely reminded him how many times he's asked me to pick him up at Harley Davidson on my way home and then take him home.  Delaying my arrival at home at least 2 - 2 1/2 hours.  Anyway...he wants me to read this book he gave me for Christmas that I am not interested in at this time called, Healing the Addicted Brain.  Why does everyone insist on butting into my life?  Leave me alone!!!!!!

11 Months

Wow! Today makes 11 months that I have cut off all comunication with the woman I used to call "Mom".  I have no name for her now other than "her" or "that woman".  I really wish I were a writer and could express the enormous weight lifted from my shoulders, heart and mind that I no longer have to deal with her.  This past Sunday my dad and aunt were visiting me and telling me about her various maladys related to her severe rheumatoid arthritis and you know, I didn't even care.  Not 1 ounce of concern.

The Desiderata by Max Ehrmann

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.
